Peninsula Leak Detective is a specialist leak-detection service founded by Brendan Baran, a licenced plumber who has been working with homes and businesses across the Mornington Peninsula for years.
Brendan established Backbeach Plumbing in 2020 and built the business by looking after local families, homeowners, property managers and businesses throughout the Peninsula. For Brendan, the work has always been personal. This is the community he lives and works in, and many customers have come through repeat business, referrals and word of mouth.
Over time, Brendan saw how stressful hidden water leaks can be for local homeowners — especially when the source is not obvious and there is a risk of unnecessary damage trying to find it. Peninsula Leak Detective was created to focus specifically on that problem.
The service is dedicated to accurately locating concealed water leaks before unnecessary demolition begins, using specialist diagnostic methods such as pressure testing, acoustic leak detection, thermal imaging and moisture assessment.
What makes the service different is that it combines specialist equipment with real plumbing experience and a strong local understanding of the types of homes, renovations and plumbing systems found across the Mornington Peninsula.
